VSWR drift past 1.5:1 at 6 GHz post-flex
Generic coax assemblies pass at 1.2:1 fresh, then climb to 1.7:1 after 200 flex cycles when the centre conductor solder joint cracks. Our crimp + solder hybrid termination per IEC 61169-1 holds VSWR ≤ 1.4:1 through 1,000 flex cycles.

RG316 jacket cold-flow at 105 °C exposing dielectric
FEP-skinned RG316 cold-flows under sustained 105 °C, pinching the dielectric and walking impedance off 50 Ω. We spec PTFE-tape dielectric with FEP outer per MIL-DTL-17 §3.4 for engine-bay and downhole programs.

Insertion loss climbs 0.4 dB/m past spec at 12 GHz
Tin-plated centre conductors oxidise inside the dielectric and add 0.4 dB/m loss at 12 GHz inside 18 months. We hold silver-plated copper-clad steel stock per MIL-C-17 with first-article loss data archived per lot.

Phase-match pair drift > 5 ° between A/B legs at 6 GHz
Beam-forming arrays need ≤ 3 ° phase match across pair. Cable cut on a length jig only is not enough — we phase-trim each pair on a Keysight P5024A VNA before connectorising and ship with the phase-match cert.

Crimp ferrule cracks RG214 braid at 90 ° boot exit
Hex-crimp on RG214 braid plus a sharp boot exit splits the braid and shorts the shield to chassis at vibration. Our die set per MIL-DTL-39012 with 0.255" hex over a strain-relief boot eliminates the failure on 3 customer programs.

RG178/RG316/RG214/LMR-240 ranges in silver-plated copper or copper-clad steel per MIL-C-17 §3.7. Mill cert plus oxide check on every reel.
