Buyers Always Need.
Lead time, MOQ, IPC class, payment terms, tariffs — straight from our engineering desk. If we're missing something, ask us directly and we'll add it.
Pricing & MOQ
Pricing & MOQ
What is the smallest order you accept?
+
MOQ is 1 piece for prototypes and NPI runs. Production-grade pricing tiers: 1–499 (NPI rate), 500–4,999 (production rate, ~22% lower than NPI), 5,000+ (volume rate, ~31% lower). Connector cost is the dominant variable; we publish a Molex/TE/Amphenol price-break sheet on request.
How is wire harness pricing calculated?
+
Rough rule: BOM cost × 1.45 covers materials + crimping; final unit price = (BOM × 1.45) + ($0.45–$1.20 labor depending on circuit count) + ($0.08–$0.18 test) + 12% margin. Volumes ≥ 5,000 cut labor 30% and margin 4%. We share the cost stack openly on every quote — no black-box pricing.
Do you charge for tooling?
+
Standard crimp tooling is free of charge — it lives in our cells. Custom overmold tooling is amortized over the first 5,000–10,000 units (typical $3,000–$12,000 NRE depending on cavity count). Single-cavity prototype overmolds are charged at cost ($800–$2,000) and refunded on PO.
Lead Time & Capacity
Lead Time & Capacity
What is the realistic lead time from PO to first shipment?
+
After sample approval: 7–10 working days for repeat parts, 10–15 working days for new wire harnesses with existing connectors, 25–35 working days for box builds requiring custom enclosure tooling. Air freight to LAX/JFK adds 4–6 days, sea freight adds 18–22 days FOB Manila to LAX.
How many units can the Cavite plant ship per month?
+
Cavite plant capacity is 1.8 million single-circuit equivalents per month. We carry 30% slack for unexpected ramp. Parent-group sister capacity is available on call for non-US destinations, so worst-case sourcing risk for any program is the connector lead time, not us.
Can you do same-day samples?
+
For low-circuit-count harnesses with terminals already in our cell library — yes, we run a sample within 4 hours of approved drawing. Anything requiring new connector setup or shielded cable kit-out: 24–48 hours.
Quality & Certifications
Quality & Certifications
Which IPC class do you build to by default?
+
IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3, the strictest acceptance class. Class 2 builds are available on request at ~6% lower rate, but we recommend Class 3 even when not contractually required because the operator training is identical.
Do you have IATF 16949 for automotive?
+
Yes — Cavite plant certified continuously since 2014. PPAP Level 3 documentation is the default for Tier-1 customers (Level 2 on request, Level 4 on request with 5–7 extra working days).
What about ISO 13485 for medical?
+
Yes, the Cavite plant added ISO 13485 in 2021. We carve out a cleanroom-grade line for medical builds — separate operator badges, separate material flow, no cross-contamination with automotive lines. DMR/DHR documentation maintained per device family.
Do you offer PPAP and FAI documentation?
+
Yes. Default is PPAP Level 3 (full submission package: control plan, FMEA, capability study, MSA, IMDS for automotive, dimensional + capability data, packaging spec). Level 4 on request adds capability study at customer site. FAI per AS9102 for aerospace customers.
Tariffs & Logistics
Tariffs & Logistics
How does the tariff-free Cavite advantage work?
+
Wire harness HS codes 8544.30 and 8544.42 ship from Cavite Economic Zone duty-free under GSP. A 1,000-unit run shipping FOB Manila avoids the $1,800 Section 301 surcharge applied to Chinese-origin shipments. Your customs broker files the standard CFR Part 10 GSP claim — we provide the Form A on every commercial invoice.
What payment terms do you offer?
+
TT (telegraphic transfer) is primary. PayPal accepted for samples and first POs ≤ $5,000. 30-day open account available after the third successful PO; 60-day for accounts ≥ $250K annual spend. Letters of credit accepted at customer's bank cost.
Which freight forwarders do you work with?
+
Air: DHL, FedEx, UPS — direct accounts at all three, so we get freight rates ~12–18% below your typical broker. Sea: Maersk Asia-Pacific Service is our primary FCL line, MSC and CMA-CGM as alternates. We can ship FOB Manila or CIF destination on request.
Engineering & DFM
Engineering & DFM
Do you offer free DFM/DFA review?
+
Yes, complimentary — no NDA required for first review. Send drawings or a connector list and our engineering team responds within 24 hours with: cost-down call-outs (terminal alternates, wire-gauge consolidation), testability call-outs, reliability call-outs (where overmold or shielding pays back).
What CAD formats can you accept?
+
Drawings: PDF, DXF, DWG. 3D: STEP (.stp), IGES (.igs), Parasolid (.x_t). BOM: XLSX, CSV, and Tier-1 native formats (Mahle, Bosch, Continental). For sensitive IP we accept GIT-bundled drawings via SFTP.
Can you reverse-engineer a sample?
+
Yes. Send us a physical sample and we'll generate IPC-A-620-compliant drawings within 5 working days, including connector pinouts, wire gauges, terminal lot recommendations, and overmold geometry. $400–$1,200 depending on complexity, refunded on PO ≥ 500 units.
Tooling & Box Build
Tooling & Box Build
Can you handle the tooling AND the harness?
+
Yes. Our in-house mold shop builds the injection-mold tooling that your overmold sits on. Single-source tooling and harness means one PO, one timeline, and one party accountable when the tool needs revision after a part change. Full SLA: 30–35 working days for new tools, ≤ 7 working days for tool revisions.
What box-build complexity can you handle?
+
Today we run 1,200-component assemblies on a single fixture. Power supplies up to 480 VAC three-phase, programmable burn-in stations to 96 hours. We don't do PCB SMT in-house — we partner with three audited PCBA partners under shared Vault BOM master.
Do you do system-level test/burn-in?
+
Yes — 24-hour and 96-hour burn-in stations on the Cavite floor. Can run customer-supplied burn-in scripts via Ethernet/RS-485. Stat reports auto-emailed daily.
IP & Confidentiality
IP & Confidentiality
Will you sign an NDA?
+
Mutual NDA on every RFQ before drawings change hands. We have your standard MNDA template on file or send us yours; we'll countersign within 4 business hours. ITAR-aware program management on request — we have segregated drives and badge control for it.
How do you protect drawings from competitors?
+
Drawing access is per-account; only the named account engineer and their direct line lead have read access. We do not subcontract harnesses to outside shops — every harness leaving the door was built inside our walls. We maintain serialized drawing logs that we can audit on request.
