eDP HBR3 8.1 Gbps insertion loss exceeds VESA 1.4b -8 dB budget
Aux-pair skew over 30 ps and intra-pair skew over 10 ps fails VESA eDP 1.4b link training at HBR3. We sweep S-parameters on a Keysight ENA-X up to 14 GHz and bin assemblies that exceed the VESA insertion-loss mask.

I-PEX CABLINE-CA II 40-pin assemblies short to chassis when the ground paddle is hand-soldered with paste mass over 0.4 mg. Our hot-bar reflow holds paste mass to ±0.05 mg per joint per JEDEC J-STD-001 §5.2.

40 AWG silver-plated copper drain wires fatigue at the coverlay step transition under repeated lid open/close. Our drain-wire qualification runs IEC 61169-58 §9.3 to 50,000 hinge cycles per program.

eDP panel-side connector pitch crush at 0.5 mm
0.5 mm-pitch I-PEX 20454 receptacles get crushed when the operator uses a 0.4 mm-fixture micro-coax. Our cell holds connector-specific torque jigs and barcoded pitch verification before mate.

HBR3 link training fails at -25C cold start
PI dielectric loss tangent rises 18% at -25C; an eDP cable that passes 23C training fails AEB ECR.011 cold-start link training. We thermal-cycle assemblies per IEC 60068-2-14 method Nb (-25 to +85 C) and re-verify HBR3 lock at each plateau.

Keysight ENA-X 14 GHz vector network analyzer sweeps insertion loss, return loss, NEXT/FEXT against the VESA eDP 1.4b mask on every cable build. S-parameter file (.s4p) attached to harness barcode.
I-PEX / JAE / Molex micro-coax authorized supply
I-PEX CABLINE-CA II, JAE WP3, Molex Pico-EZmate sourced through authorized channels with quarterly lot inspection per IEC 61169-58. UL E-File on every reel.
Hot-bar reflow per IPC J-STD-001 Class 3
Unitek hot-bar reflow stations hold paste mass tolerance ±0.05 mg per joint, peak temperature ±3 C against profile. Class 3 acceptance per IPC J-STD-001 §5.2.2 — every joint.
40 AWG micro-coax cross-section per build
40 AWG silver-plated copper micro-coax cross-section under Olympus BX53 metallograph against the customer drawing. Strand count, dielectric concentricity, drain-wire pickup verified per IPC/WHMA-A-620 §6.3.
Cold-start link verification IEC 60068-2-14
On-site Espec PL-3KP thermal chamber runs -40 C to +125 C cycles. eDP HBR3 link training re-verified at each thermal plateau before sample release.
