What We Build for Automotive OEMs
FROM 12V CHASSIS
TO 800V EV.
XUDONG Cavite delivers across the full vehicle electrical architecture — engine bay, dash, chassis, body, and the new EV-specific battery / e-axle / inverter harness families. Tier-1 accounts run programs into Mahle, Continental, Bosch (Tier-2 sub) and three German EV battery OEMs. We build to JIS connector ecosystems (Sumitomo HV, JAE, Yazaki) as well as to the German set (TE Deutsch, Molex Mini-Fit, Hirschmann).
On the EV side, we run a dedicated high-voltage harness line for 600 V and 800 V architectures with orange jacketing, HV interlock loops (HVIL) and torque-controlled Sumitomo HV connector seating. Our overmold cells handle ADAS sensor strain reliefs at 50K+ flex cycles. Custom programs route through our custom wire harness workflow with full APQP discipline.
For program-launch, we maintain a dedicated APQP coordinator and PPAP submission engineer. Sample lead-time from RFQ is 3–5 working days. PPAP Level 3 documentation is our default, including dimensional reports, IMDS submission, control plan, FMEA and capability studies — at no extra charge for production programs.
Automotive Capability Matrix
SIX AUTOMOTIVE
SPECIALIZATIONS.
Built on parent-group harness manufacturing experience transplanted to the Cavite line.
EV Battery Harness · 600V / 800V
Orange jacketed HV harness with HVIL interlock, Sumitomo HV connector seating to 4 N·m calibrated torque, 35 mm² to 95 mm² conductor range.
ADAS Sensor Strings
Coaxial radar harness, FAKRA connectors, LiDAR signal cables. Cross-talk testing per OEM spec, shielded with JIS C 3406 tinned-copper braid.
Dash, Engine, Chassis Harness
Multi-branch harnesses up to 480 circuits. Splice + ultrasonic weld + mass-termination capable. Convoluted tubing, cloth tape, anti-abrasion sleeves.
JIS Connector Ecosystem
Sumitomo HX/HW/HV, JAE MX, Yazaki YESC inventory carried locally. Tier-2 references include TE, Molex, Amphenol, Hirschmann, Deutsch.
PPAP Level 3 + IMDS
Dimensional reports, control plan, PFMEA, MSA, capability indices, IMDS submission, AAR, sample bag — all defaulted in for production parts.
APQP Gate Discipline
Five APQP phases run by a dedicated coordinator. Run-at-rate, PPAP submission and 90-day SOP support included.
Buyer Pain Points
FOUR THINGS THAT
KEEP TIER-1 BUYERS UP.
Challenge #1
Dash-harness complexity creep mid-program
ECU revisions add circuits late in DV. A 220-circuit dash harness becomes a 280-circuit harness, fixture boards and PPAP samples need re-cutting, and your Tier-1 absorbs the schedule slip.
How XUDONG addresses it
We pre-allocate spare circuits at RFQ stage based on program category benchmarks (sedans typically need 12% spare capacity; SUVs 18%). Fixture boards designed with detachable extension modules so circuit additions cost 3 days, not 3 weeks.
Challenge #2
Sensor proliferation around ADAS / camera arrays
L2+ programs ship with 14–18 cameras and radar units. Each adds a coax harness with FAKRA termination, cross-talk testing requirements and tight EMC budgets that the harness contributes to.
How XUDONG addresses it
Dedicated FAKRA crimp cell and Cirris CR/CH bench programmed with OEM-specific cross-talk masks. We carry FAKRA connector inventory across colors A–Z, code-keyed, with serialized lot traceability.
Challenge #3
EV high-voltage transition (400V → 800V)
Moving to 800 V architecture means new HVIL strategies, finer torque control on Sumitomo HV connectors, orange jacket sourcing, and partial-discharge testing on every harness — and your existing supplier may not have any of it.
How XUDONG addresses it
We run a segregated HV cell with calibrated torque drivers (±0.2 N·m), orange ECTFE jacket inventory in 35–95 mm², and 100% partial-discharge testing on production HV harnesses. References available from active EU and Korean EV programs.
Challenge #4
IATF audit overhead each year
External IATF audits demand 80+ documents (control plan, PFMEA, MSA, run-at-rate, layered process audits). Many suppliers scramble for two weeks before each audit and still close findings late.
How XUDONG addresses it
Our 45+ in-house IPC-A-620 trainers double as layered-process auditors. LPA cadence is monthly. The last 24 customer audits closed at 100% — we provide audit closure history with the RFQ if requested.

Anonymized Case Study
EU EV BATTERY OEM
(GERMANY · TIER-1).
Customer: publicly listed German EV battery OEM supplying three premium European auto brands. They needed an Asian dual-source for the orange-jacketed HV battery harness used on a 800 V platform — same-revision production parallel to their incumbent EU supplier, with PPAP3 and IMDS on day one.
We took over Phase 2 APQP at RFQ + 7 days. Sample approved on first article. PPAP L3 submitted on week 5. Production ramp Q1 2024; full-year 2024 deliveries crossed 100,000 harnesses with zero PPM rejection on shipped lots.

Founder Note · Mr. Fei Bo Hu
“Our automotive line is what 21 years of harness work compressed into one playbook. We did not start with EV — we started with engine and chassis for Mahle and Continental in 2009. The torque discipline that keeps a Sumitomo HV connector at 4 N·m is the same discipline that kept a fuel-injector connector reliable for a decade. Different industry, same hands.”
