Issue #01
Split loom seam pops open at 80C engine bay
Standard PE split-loom seam relaxes above 80 C and pops open along the length, exposing the harness to abrasion. Our high-temp PA66-nylon split loom holds the slit closed to 150 C continuous per SAE J2202.
Issue #02
Loom OD undersized — bunched harness chafes through
Specifying 1/2-inch loom for a 9/16-inch harness bundle causes chafe-through at 1500 hours engine-bay vibration per SAE J1455. Our DFM call-out runs harness-OD fill ratio per SAE J1128 and recommends one size up.

Convoluted-tube split tears at the cut-end
Convoluted PA12 tube cut without a hot-knife splays at the cut-end and rips along the next vibration cycle. Our cut cell uses hot-knife at 250 C with chamfered tooling — clean edge per SAE J2192.

Loom UV degradation at 24 months outdoor exposure
Non-UV-stabilized PE loom chalks at 24 months ASTM G155 xenon-arc; jacket cracks during winter installation. Our UV-stabilized PA12 / TPU stock holds 7-year outdoor exposure per SAE J2202 §6.3.

Loom flame-spread fails FMVSS 302
Generic split-loom burning above 102 mm/min fails the FMVSS 302 horizontal flame-rate limit. Our FR-grade PA66 / PA12 stock self-extinguishes at < 80 mm/min per FMVSS 302 with category certificate per reel.

FMVSS 302 / UL 1441 flame-rated stock
FMVSS 302 horizontal flame + UL 1441 vertical flame qualified PA66, PA12, TPU split-loom and convoluted-tube stocks. Category certificate per reel at receiving.
Hot-knife cut cell per SAE J2192
hot-knife stations at 250 C with chamfered tooling deliver clean splay-free convoluted-tube cuts per SAE J2192. First-piece edge verification under microscope on every shift change.
Heyco / Panduit / Murrplastik corrugated-tube stock
Heyco-Flex and Murrplastik EW corrugated-tube stocks, plus Panduit Pan-Steel stainless-steel cable ties held with full lot traceability. UV-stabilized PA12 and high-temp PA66 (150 C) variants stocked.
Engine-bay 150C / -40C cycle qualification
Espec PL-3KP thermal chamber runs SAE J1455 §4.1.2 thermal cycling -40 C to +150 C on every new loom-stock release. Slit-retention and abrasion resistance verified at each plateau.
