Issue #01
Tinned-copper braid coverage drops below 85% at strip
Tinned-copper braid sleeves loosen at the strip transition when pick angle drifts beyond 30 degrees off-axis. Coverage falls below the 85% MIL-DTL-17 floor and shield effectiveness collapses 12 dB at 1 GHz. Our braid-strip cell uses fixture jigs per cable OD.

PET expandable braid melts at 200C continuous
Standard PET expandable braid degrades above 125 C and chars at 200 C — wrong choice for engine-bay routing. We stock Techflex Nomex / fiberglass braid rated 600 C continuous per UL 1441 with category certificate.

Braid pigtail drain over 25 mm fails CISPR 25
Pigtail-drain shield bonds longer than 25 mm radiate at 100-300 MHz and bust CISPR 25 Class 5 by 8 dB. Our termination cell uses 360-degree EMI backshells (Glenair, Amphenol Cinch) with strap length printed on the drawing.

Stainless braid abrades silicone insulation
304 stainless braid run over silicone primary chafes through the insulation at 50 K vibration cycles per MIL-STD-810H method 514.8. Our build adds PTFE-tape underwrap qualified to AS50881 §5.1.4 anti-chafe spec.

Solder-end braid terminations crack at thermal cycle
Solder-tinning the braid pigtail creates a stiff transition that cracks at -40C / +85C cycles per IEC 60068-2-14. We use crimp ferrule terminations with Glenair M85049/138 backshells — no solder, no crack.

Techflex Flexo Nomex, Flexo Quartz, and Insultherm fiberglass braid rated 600 C continuous per UL 1441 stocked on-site. Engine-bay and aerospace programs ship without lead-time hits.
360-degree EMI shield-effectiveness bench
